What is Photogrammetry?

Photogrammetry is the science and technology of obtaining reliable information about physical objects and the environment through the process of recording, measuring, and interpreting photographic images and patterns of electromagnetic radiant imagery and other phenomena. Essentially, photogrammetry involves taking measurements from photographs, typically aerial photos, to create accurate maps, 3D models, and other data representations.

How Does Photogrammetry Work?
1. Image Acquisition: Multiple overlapping photographs of an object or terrain are taken from different angles.
2. Processing: These images are processed using specialized software to extract geometric information.
3. Model Creation: The data is used to create 2D maps or 3D models by triangulating the spatial relationships between points in the images.
4. Analysis: The resulting models or maps are analyzed for various applications, providing detailed insights into the physical world.
